"Best seafood and mussels ever!!! Especially the fried mussels with a delicious salsa ;-) very autentic Restaurant."
"A Hidden Gem in Madrid – Bar El Rocío We absolutely fell in love with Bar El Rocío during our stay in Madrid. The food is incredibly fresh, flavorful, and made to order. We tried a variety of dishes—mussels in spicy sauce (with the option to adjust the spice level), fried squid, anchovy fries, and garlic shrimp—and every single plate was a delight. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients and the care that goes into the cooking. The service was excellent—friendly, welcoming, and very helpful, even for English speakers. We felt comfortable and well taken care of every time we visited. The place has a charming, authentic Spanish atmosphere that makes you want to sit, eat, drink, and stay longer. We actually ended up coming back three times in one week—that’s how much we loved it! We couldn’t leave Madrid without giving Bar El Rocío the compliment it truly deserves. Highly recommended to anyone looking for great local food and genuine hospitality!"
"This was how good their mussels were :). I got 2 of them and finished all! I did spicy level 30 in the beginning but it was a bit spicy for me, so I did 5 for the second order. It was so good. I love that they don’t douse it in olive oil, it lets you taste the freshness of the seafood. Definitely a hidden gem."
"Very fresh mussels with amazing soup. The price is reasonable. It wasn't so spicy. I recommend to order bread to eat with."
"My wife and I stopped in for dinner here. We both had the Garlic Shrimp starter walking with one order of the croquetas. Was more than enough food for the two of us, and all of it was delicious. We ate right out on the patio area and got to enjoy the ambience of being in Madrid and all the hustle and bustle of people going by. Wonderful experience and well worth the stop."
"Spicy Mussels 13 € As a Korean-Japanese, the spice level was spot-on—about 50% intensity. After several days of oil-heavy Spanish food, this dish hit the spot. The portion is just right for one person and pairs well with a baguette. Champiñón 9 € Tastes good when served hot, but there’s a slight earthy note from the mushrooms that felt a bit off. A stronger touch of garlic or a splash of lemon could’ve brightened it up. White Wine 3 € Simple and crisp. Pairs reasonably well with the seafood, though not particularly memorable on its own. Sangria 3 € Tastes like refined sugar with an overpowering cinnamon scent. Didn’t enjoy it at all."
"I had mussels el Rocio and mushrooms. The mussels el Rocio paired well with beer, and you can adjust the level of spiciness. However, they were a bit salty overall. On the other hand, the grilled mushrooms I ordered as an extra were very tasty, and I definitely want to come back and have them again."
"Must visit place when you crave spicy food. Order one spicy mussels stew and bread. Dip the bread in the stew and place one mussel on top and have a bite. Delicious"
